Champagne, Alsace & Black Forest in Germany

For many a tourist, France beings and ends in Paris – and while the city is undoubtedly the ‘star’ attraction of France, for a traveler, the French country side has much more to offer. This truly unique personalized experience will take you from the glamour of Paris, to the Champagne region, where we see how champagne is made, and taste the bubbly at some premier vineyards. We continue onto the Alasace region of France, known for its scenic drives and picturesque villages and into the Black Forest, known as one of the most scenic drives in Europe. And yes, we will try the world-famous Black Forest Cake, perhaps take back some for our family!

Trip Highlights

No other city in the world comes close to Paris in its grandeur, glamour and romance – we spend at least three full days in ville d’amour – trying to soak in as many of the sights and monuments we can, knowing fully that to fully experience Paris may need almost a year, if not more!

Reims and the Champagne Country – visit the famous champagne houses such as Moet Chandon and Mercier, for tours and champagne tasting

Four UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the beautiful Place Stanislas in Nancy

Alsace Wine Route – Stunning picture perfect villages and some of the best wines of the world

Day trip to the Vosges Mountains near Colmar, including a visit to Le Struthof, the only concentration camp in France (this is not for the weak hearted)

Drive into Germany and follow the Black Forest route back to Baden-Baden

Historic city of Strasbourg and it pretty surroundings.

When to Travel – Like most European countries, summer and fall are the best times to travel to France – this is when the days are long, and it’s fairly dry in the areas where this itinerary takes us. From mid-May to early- October is recommended, although it does get a bit cool toward the end.
