The Classic Italy tour

If you would like a wholesome dose of art, history and culture, lofty mountains and sandy beaches, scenic drives through sleepy rustic landscapes, vineyards and olive plantations – if you want to live the uber life and splurge on fashion – if you want to take your “amore mio” on a special vacation – head to Italy.
Our “classic Italy” trip beings in Milan and ends in Naples, and lets you taste a bit of all the above.

Trip Highlights

Wonder at the Milan Cathedral – the fifth largest in the World – and visit the Santa Maria delle Grazie, which houses Michelangelo’s renowned Last Supper mural painting.

Take a romantic gondola ride in the numerous canals of Venice

Spend a day visiting museums and art galleries in Florence – by far one of the most artistically beautiful cities in the World, and known as the cradle of Italian Renaissance. Visit the Galleria degli Uffizi, the most popular gallery in the city.

Spend a day driving in Tuscany – a sheer delight for the eyes and the camera, as narrow roads wind around rolling hills, pass through vineyards and touch sleepy villages which dish out some of the best Italian food.

Rome and Vatican City - Once the capital of the mighty Roman Empire, and now the political center of Italy as well as “Mecca” to the catholic religion – every piazza and street in this city bears testimony to its glorious past. The best way to explore Rome is on foot

A haven for connoisseurs of fine seafood, cheese and elixirs of life – Taste some of the finest of French cheeses, which come from this region – including the most popular Camembert and splurge on the fine wines, calvados, Benedictine and the ever -so-special cidre

Drive down the winding roads of the magical Amalfi Coast - touching dramatic landscapes, Mediterranean flora and striking rock formations, through picture postcard towns of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello

When to Travel – Almost any time is a good time to visit Italy! And depending on what your interests are there are always regions to visit and things to do. Summers are perfect as the days are long, and there are many festivals and outdoors stuff to do. However, the crowds are also proportionally higher and trips are expensive.
Winters are ideal for skiers and winter sports, when the crowds are less and hotels are cheap.
Maps and Stories organizes regular trips to Italy all year around
