Best time to visit

Lavender season in Provence peaks in the first half of July. This is also the busiest of the seasons, and accommodation sells out in advance. We recommend planning for this trip at least 4-5 months ahead of departure

Monks were responsible for continuing the success of wine manufacturing in the area once the Roman Empire collapsed. It was the monks who developed Provencal wine making from the 5th century for a further 700 years.
