Farm Holiday in Slovenia

Imagine cutting away from the hustle-bustle of the world, and spending a week in a pristine rural farm in a country where more than 50% of the land is covered by forests. While your room offers most modern amenities, step outside and you have the opportunity to be one with nature. Take a short hikes in the surrounding valleys, or longer drive to more popular destinations like the Triglav National Park or the lakeside resort of Bled. Or take a day trip to coastal Piran and indulge in a leisurely sailing trip on the serene Adriatic waters. One of the most refreshing vacations you will ever take.

Trip Highlights

  • Treat yourself to a farm holiday in picture-perfect Slovenia – a country where breath-taking natural landscapes blend with beautiful historic villages – where more than 50% of the country’s land area is still covered with forests
  • The farmhouse is located just 5 minutes from Logarska Dolina – one of the most beautiful Alpine glacial valleys in Europe, offering opportunities for hiking & trekking. Continue on the Solčava panoramic road to the secluded Matkov kot and check out the Matkov škaf – a crater like snow funnel carved by a powerful 40 m tall waterfall
  • Take a day-trip across the border into Austria – drive up to the 1200 m summit of the Villach-Alpine road, where each turn offers far-reaching views of the Julian Alps and the Karawanks. Continue on to the genteel lakeside village of Millstatt, on the banks of lake Millstatt, with it’s warm crystal clear water, Alpine-Adriatic cuisine & stunning panoramas – rightly known as the Jewel of Carintiha
  • Spend a day in postcard perfect Bled, explore the Bled castle, and take a ride on a pletna on Lake Bled. Savor the original Bled Cake as you relax on the banks of the alpine lake

Best time to visit

We recommend visiting this region between April – September, with July and August being the busiest months. Winters and cold and many facilities shut down, however, there are ample opportunities for Skiing and other winter activities (and much cheaper than conventional destinations like Austria & Switzerland!)

farm stay amidst untouched nature, hiking, trekking, cycling, scenic drives, local organic produce
