/  Sicily and Malta

Sicily & Malta

This itinerary explores the story of the Mediterranean from two lands – so close together, yet so different in their history & culture. The Maltese islands, with a legacy of the legendary Knights of Malta and a strong influence from the North African coast is a thriving holiday destination for north Europeans. Sicily on the other hand, just an hour away from Malta by ferry, offers the unique opportunity to hike up and watch eruptions of a live volcano Stromboli, while at the same time making for a quintessential European holiday with scenic drives through rolling hills, cobblestone towns, vineyards and orchards.

Trip Highlights

  • Spend 4-days on the stunning Maltese islands (Malta, Gozo & Comino), surrounded by warm Mediterranean waters and immersed in the fascinating history & heritage of the legendary Knights of Malta
  • Sandy beaches, historic medinas (old bazaars), hilltop villages and a stunning coastline with jagged cliffs
  • Stroll through the atmospheric streets of the capital city of Valletta and take in it’s vibrant nightlife
  • Hop on a ferry or take a quick flight to Italy’s southern gem – Sicily – the main attraction of the region are the active volcanos – Mount Etna or Volcano Stromboli (where you can also do an evening hike to see an eruption)
